Seagull: Canadian Craftsmanship with Pure Soul
If you’ve ever picked up a Seagull guitar, you know immediately that it has a unique character. The story began back in 1982 in the small village of La Patrie, Quebec. Renowned luthier Robert Godin asked a straightforward question: why should a high-quality acoustic guitar with a solid top and deep natural resonance cost an arm and a leg? That vision became Seagull — a brand built on bringing handcrafted Canadian quality to working musicians who need reliable, incredible-sounding instruments.
100% Crafted in Canada To this day, La Patrie is practically a town of guitar makers. Out of around 475 residents, nearly half build Seagull guitars. It is one of the few brands where "Made in Canada" actually means 100% crafted in Canada from start to finish. Seagull also takes environmental responsibility seriously: all timber is either sustainably harvested or reclaimed from riverbeds, while their facilities run on clean hydroelectric power.
Signature Tone & Iconic Models The Seagull tone is unmistakable — rich, warm, and distinctly organic:
-
S6 Original — the award-winning flagship model featuring a solid cedar top paired with wild cherry back and sides.
-
Artist Series — ultimate refinement for studio recording and major stages.
-
Burnt Umber — stunning vintage-aesthetic finishes that stand out under any spotlight.
Smart Engineering for Tuning Stability Even the signature tapered headstock isn't just a design choice — it's smart engineering. By pulling the strings in a straight line directly to the tuning pegs, it drastically improves tuning stability during prolonged playing sessions.
Seagull doesn't build showpieces for display cases — they make guitars meant to be played, written with, and passed down.
